Counts of Zevallos
It is said that my father, Manuel de Segura Zevallos, built this house, but that is something I could not confirm. My earliest memories here, from when I was very young, already show a completed building, with its front courtyard full of shops and storage rooms. Upstairs we had a chapel that frightened me, with the flickering candlelight and the crucifixes and images of saints.
A couple whose story is intertwined with that of this house—and who also form part of the greater historical tapestry, as they were very likely the hosts of Iturbide and O’Donojú during the signing of the Treaty of Córdoba..
In their room, you will discover details of everyday life in the colonial era at a time close to the turmoil of the War of Independence.
