The History of the Zevallos House
Boutique Hotel Casa Zevallos is located in the historic building where Mexico’s history took shape.
A 17th-century structure that safeguarded secrets, decisions, and moments that changed the course of the nation.
“Everything in life eventually comes to an end, except the tower of the villa,” people in Córdoba used to say, referring to the eternity it took to finish the cathedral’s second tower. The story goes like this: always under construction, always open to new interpretations.
Boutique Hotel Casa Zevallos inhabits a 17th-century building that was once the home of a distinguished couple from New Spain’s high society. Within these walls, the Treaties of Córdoba were signed—the agreement that ended the Mexican War of Independence and marked the birth of a nation.
Today, its spaces intertwine the voices of historical and legendary figures, inviting an intimate and contemporary interpretation of that decisive moment for the country.
From the tranquility of each of our rooms, you’ll discover unique pieces—elements that form part of the living puzzle that gave rise to independent Mexico in 1821.
Casa Zevallos is more than a hotel. It is an immersive historical experience, a delicate encounter between past and present, and a tribute to the living memory of Córdoba.
