O'Donoju

Among the distinctions I received in life, I can also count the honor of having been named Minister of War, and of having been decorated with the Grand Cross of the Order of Charles III and the Grand Cross of the Order of San Hermenegildo.

What very few people know is that if O'Donojú had not been the liberal and progressive thinker that he was, perhaps the War of Independence would have been unnecessarily prolonged.
